Free SAT study program helps Dallas teen

"Destination: Graduation taught me easy, new ways to do things and different ways to process the questions."

For Maria, an 18-year-old senior at Thomas Jefferson High School, Destination: Graduation was both educational and fun.

At first, Maria didn't think it was going to help. "'What am I going to learn from Destination: Graduation?' That's what I thought," she recalls.

Well, what she learned were valuable test-taking skills that spiked her SAT score to 1,530.

"I learned you don't always have to do math the hard way," she says with a laugh. "It taught me easy, new ways to do things and different ways to process the questions."

Maria, an 18-year-old senior at Thomas Jefferson High School plans to attend the University of Texas and study bio-medical engineering. She hopes to one day become a surgeon.

For students considering enrolling in Destination: Graduation, she cautions them not to overlook what can be gained.

"It's a great opportunity," she says. "I had fun and I learned."
