Job Description

Function as a member of the Resource Development team by managing assigned workplace campaign accounts. Analyze corporate accounts to develop effective fundraising strategies. Work with company campaign volunteers to plan and implement successful workplace fundraising campaigns. Conduct United Way presentations to educate, motivate and train volunteers and employees. 

Salary:  $15.00 - $19.00 an hour (40 hours per week)
Term of Service: June 11, 2012 - November 9, 2012

Responsibilities

  • Attend a comprehensive, paid training program to learn how United Way operates and how it impacts our community.

  • Contact area companies to secure campaign volunteers and commitment for facilitating annual United Way fundraising campaigns.

  • Review account histories, identify account needs and develop strategies to meet goals.

  • Set financial and non-financial goals and monitor progress.

  • Assist and motivate campaign volunteers at area companies to plan and implement successful workplace fundraising campaigns.

  • Regularly solicit financial contributions and communicate to employee groups how United Way contributions benefit the community.

  • Conduct United Way presentations to educate, motivate and train volunteers as needed.

  • Organize agency speakers, tours and volunteer projects for companies.

  • Gather account information such as volunteer contact information and employee counts to submit to administrative staff for input into United Way’s database.

  • Follow up regularly with employee campaign coordinator to attain and finalize campaign results.

  • Collect, count, review and transport donor contributions (cash, checks and credit card payments) as well as pledge forms containing personal identification information from workplace sites to the United Way finance office.

  • Exhibit personal commitment to the success of the campaign through quality work, team participation and timely customer service.

  • Contact individual donors via phone for follow up to donation solicitations.

  • Other projects as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of experience in sales, account management, or fundraising

AVAILABILITY: Ability to work normal business hours with occasional hours outside the normal work schedule i.e. conducting employee speeches or working special events evenings/nights/weekends

TRANSPORTATION: Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance coverage required

Job Description

Under the direction of the Product Development Manager, the Early Childhood Specialist is responsible for assisting with management and oversight of the Health and Human Services Commission Home Visiting grant. This project has three primary components:

  • Expanding home visiting services in high-risk target areas
  • Matching families with appropriate home visiting services
  • Developing a plan for a comprehensive early childhood system in Dallas

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing contracts with all subcontractors
  • Assist with implementation of Early Development Instrument (EDI), a population-level early childhood development measurement tool, in targeted elementary schools
  • Participate in Transforming Early Childhood Community Services (TECCS) process as needed
  • Participate in trainings and activities required by the grant, as needed
  • Help manage the grant reporting process and deadlines, including collecting and compiling materials from subcontractors
  • Assist with coordination and scheduling of meetings, including facility arrangements, sending reminders, and maintaining RSVP lists
  • Assist with preparation of meeting materials and take minutes as needed
  • Assist with subcontractor correspondence

Job Description

Strategic planning/fundraising position within the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Tocqueville and Leadership Giving teams responsible for the successful development and implementation of strategies resulting in the achievement of revenue and membership goals for Leadership Society (gifts of $1,000 or more annually). 

Responsibilities

Donor Relationship Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of community and workforce donors through the development process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Develop a prospect list to identify new donors, grow gifts from existing donors and promote prospects for Builders Society ($2500 +) and Fast Track donors ($5000 +).

  • Play a key role with other team members in developing and implementing a donor relationship management process (CRM) which engages both staff and volunteers in cultivation and stewardship efforts year-round.

  • Assist Development Officers with the successful integration of Leadership Society strategies into workplace campaigns to attract prospects.

  • Manage a team(s) of volunteers to execute strategies to achieve overall Leadership Society goals.

  • In conjunction with the development of strategy for the Leadership Society and Affinity group(s), oversee volunteer recruitment, training and volunteer experience of steering committees and additional volunteers throughout the year. Provide exceptional staff support to Leadership Chair(s), Affinity Group Steering Committees and additional volunteers.

  • Conduct training for Leadership Chairs within workplace campaigns including curriculum development, recruitment of attendees, material production, program execution and best practice development and teaching. Create training module for Development Officers to implement onsite at companies if needed.

Event Management:

  • Develop and manage a strategic plan around all Leadership Society events to leverage staffing and measureable outcomes.

  • Actively engage donors and prospects through events designed to cultivate Leadership givers and enhance relationships. 

  • Provide and oversee consistent follow-up post events to secure commitments or move relationship forward.

Management of Leadership Society Program Development:

  • Oversee the strategy, planning and execution of the Leadership Society and Affinity Groups including development of annual goals, oversight of timelines and identification of strategic partnerships to ensure programs support overall resource development strategies.

  • Based on recommendations from United Way’s strategic plan and in partnership with team members, develop multi-year plan to increase number of Leadership Society members.

  • Oversee the development of programs and events to attain new donors, grow gifts from existing donors and create engaging donor experiences to retain current donors.

  • Evaluate data management and tracking processes.

  • Develop, oversee and measure programs to lower the attrition rate among Leadership Society including enhanced “thank you” and recognition strategies. 

  • Launch the Millennial Task Force aimed at engaging new employees, with a focus on millennials, in volunteering and giving back to the community, increasing involvement and Leadership Giving for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.

  • As needed, develop special programs and additional Leadership groups to attract, retain and grow current gifts. This could include special engagement opportunities (i.e. board development trainings) or additional societies (i.e. Emerging Leaders for donors under the age of 30).

  •  Take a leadership role and participate in other departmental and organizational opportunities and initiatives as requested including the strategic planning process.

  • Serve in a leadership role on a United Way Worldwide committee or participate as a facilitator at national conferences, on webinars, etc. as requested.

This is a fundraising position within the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas annual campaign team responsible for developing and cultivating relationships with prospective and current members of the Tocqueville Society.  United by their commitment to making North Texas a better place to live, work and raise a family, the Tocqueville Society is comprised of more than 680 members who contribute annual gifts of $10,000 or more. 

Responsibilities

Donor Relationship Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of annual donors through the development process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Develop and implement individual cultivation and solicitation strategies for each prospective donor in portfolio to result in retention and growth in annual gifts. 

  • Utilize relationship building skills to discover Tocqueville prospective and current donors' philanthropic interests, values and priorities through meaningful contacts (i.e. personal visits, calls, meetings, etc).  Engage donors in United Way’s mission and work through investment opportunities, volunteer engagement and advocacy. 

  • Recruit and staff community and business volunteers for Tocqueville Cabinet to assist with recruiting, retaining and growing gifts for members of the Tocqueville Society.

  • Capture, enter and maintain relevant stakeholder information in database.

  • Collaborate with Tocqueville and Leadership Giving team to create and execute a strategy to reach all current donors.

  • Develop and manage strategy to enhance the Builder Society ($2,500 +) to move donors along a continuum of giving. Oversight includes identifying metrics, benchmarks, events, communications and recognition in order to achieve desired development goals.

Event Management:

  • Develop and manage a strategic plan around all Tocqueville events to leverage staffing and measureable outcomes.

  • Oversee the strategy, planning and coordination of the Second Tuesday Luncheon Series, a monthly members-only luncheon.

  • Staff the Second Tuesday Ambassador volunteer who will help guide the strategy of the luncheon series.

  • Work in collaboration with the Second Tuesday Ambassador, Tocqueville Cabinet and members of the Resource Development team to recruit ten speakers for the Second Tuesday Luncheon Series.

  • Develop and produce multiple Tocqueville Society strategic events including the annual Thank You event, Gratitude, prospect and cultivation events and donor appreciation dinner.

  • Collaborate with Women of Tocqueville and Volunteer Engagement to create volunteer opportunities.

General:

  • Work with marketing to produce Tocqueville Society collateral materials and web content.

  • Participate and take a leadership role in other departmental and/or cross-functional teams as requested.

  • Assist with other projects and needs as assigned.

Job Description

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is seeking a dynamic professional to lead a community organizing and planning effort to develop a comprehensive community plan to address family financial stability, economic stability and asset development. Work will include analyzing existing resources in Dallas and around the country, establishing partnerships and strategic alliances with funders, service providers, volunteers, corporations, elected officials, and other community stakeholders, and developing a plan for strengthening and scaling successful programs, and identifying effective programs in other communities and developing a plan to import them. The successful candidate will have expertise and a proven track record in community organizing and planning, excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills, and strong working knowledge of financial stability and asset building programs and services

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of overall strategy and plan for effective asset building/financial stability services for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas service area
  • Strengthen existing relationships and forge new working partnerships with community leaders, service providers, corporations, funders, public sector, educational institutions, coalitions, and other stakeholders to collectively create the plan and implement strategies
  • Community Plan will include the following elements:
    • Inventory of area nonprofits providing financial education, jobs skills training, and asset building services for low income families – Location, Target Population, Activities, Outcomes, etc. and identify of key gaps in services/partnerships/etc.
    • Identification of national best practices in the area of financial stability and asset development
    • Clear coordination with other Asset Development/Financial Stability Funders, including Community, Private and Corporate Foundations
    • Assist with establishment of an Funders Network
    • Development of key strategies/interventions in the development of successful Family Financial Centers (FFCs)
    • Development of common goals/outcomes/measures for Family Financial Centers
    • Work with Director of Public Policy and SVP Community Impact to identify key advocacy issues
    • Lead and/or coordinate with existing coalitions, including Bank On Dallas
  • Plan and lead implementation of a Community Summit focused on Asset Development/Economic Stability 
  • Analyze Summit outcomes and incorporate information into United Way community initiatives, efforts, and strategic alliances
  • Develop regular reports for project funders and assist with development of  new funding proposals for Asset Development/Financial Stability efforts
  • Represent United Way in community coalitions, conferences, and other venues related to Asset Building/Financial Stability
  • Communicate with other United Way departments, agencies, and community representatives/stakeholders, funders, etc. in regards to Project
