In Texas, 10 percent of the population is 65 and older. Our aging population is losing their vision due to age, illness and age-related disease, impairing them from continuing to live independently.
$25 provides one-hour of literacy instruction.
$40 provides one senior with adaptive devices to help them maintain their independence.
$50 provides one hour of individualized training to learn how to be more independent in the community.
$500 allows one senior citizen one-on-one, in-home instruction assistance to modify their home and provide adaptive and devices to continue to live independently with vision loss.
$2,500 provides 40 hours of training to one blind or visually impaired individual on assistive technology to regain literacy.
