Spotlight on Scott Wilson
"The gifts we make are a personal expression of who we are and what we care about," J. Scott Wilson of KPMG, who currently serves as the Chairman of our United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas said.
Having been actively involved as a volunteer over the years, Scott views his United Way gift as part of his personal connection to our community. Having been so closely involved for so many years, he has confidence that he is making a difference for individuals and families in need - right here at home.
Scott has chaired the annual funding allocation process with more than 300 volunteers who review community needs and prioritize funding for agency program requests. He also chaired the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Board of Directors in 2006-2007, and is now the Chairman of the United Way Foundation. This provides an opportunity for him to speak with people who have been long-time friends of United Way about the value of endowing their annual gift.
"When you look at communities across our country, United Way donor participation and generosity act as a quality barometer," he said. "Communities with strong United Way support are generally good places to live. The option of endowing our gifts gives us the opportunity to extend a gift beyond current needs for future generations."
