Spotlight on Robert McRae

Robert joined Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Management Trainee in 1998. His strong leadership skills helped him to advance quickly within the ranks to hold several different management positions. In these positions he took an active role in assisting with the development of New York Group's Multi-Cultural Leadership Initiative. In 2003 McRae was promoted to Group Relations Manager for the Dallas/Fort Worth Group, where he now manages their Multi-Cultural Leadership Initiative. In this role he is responsible for cultural awareness programs internally, community/government relations and supplier diversity programs.

After many years of supporting United Way with his personal donations, in 2005 McRae took on a leadership volunteer role with United Way's community-wide campaign effort. He is the chairperson for United Way's African American Leadership Society where he serves on the campaign cabinet, providing strategic guidance and direction to the Society from a volunteer engagement and recognition perspective.

McRae has a passion for helping others and it has been through the United Way that he has found a way to channel his passion. "It has been a great pleasure to work closely with the United Way staff and their partner agencies," said McRae. "The African American Leadership Society team has participated in several different community outreach programs. These programs allowed us to learn firsthand what an incredible impact the United Way makes in the lives of many people. I have really come to understand the meaning behind their slogan, 'What Matters.'"

McRae is committed to a number of other local boards and committees, including:

  • African Chamber of Commerce - Dallas Fort Worth, Board Member
  • Black Executive Exchange Program, National Urban League
  • National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, Dallas Chapter Board of Directors
  • Paul Quinn College Community Advisory Board
  • Robert and his wife Melissa have two children, ages 10 and 17.
