Spotlight on Carolyn Hollien
Carolyn Hollien is Vice President & Branch Manager of Legacy Texas Bank in Plano. Legacy has been actively running United Way Campaigns since 1990.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Hollien is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of United Way of Collin County, a partner agency of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
"I got involved in United Way in 1998 through a friend (Lorraine Mattis)," said Ms. Hollien. "I began serving on the Allocations Committee and became aware of the great need in our community. Collin County is often said to be a wealthy county, and it is to some extent because there are some wealthy people who live in our area. But there is also another side to the coin. There is extreme poverty within our county and the needs are tremendous. I have dedicated myself to pass on the message about this need."
Ms. Hollien has served United Way in various capacities, including:
United Way Allocations Committee - 8 years - served as panel member, panel chairwoman, vice chairwoman and chairwoman of the allocations committee
United Way of Collin County Board of Directors - 2 years (One year as Chairwoman for the Board)
United Way Metropolitan Dallas - Board of Directors & Executive Committee
In her spare time, Ms. Hollien enjoys reading, crochet, shopping with her sister and daughters, and sitting in front of a cozy fire with her husband. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her ever-growing family.
United Way appreciates Ms. Hollien's dedication to United Way - to what matters, her community.
