5 Months Before Kickoff

  • Executive Sponsor and Campaign Chair selected
  • First campaign planning meeting with United Way staff partner
  • Executive Briefings with senior leadership to choose Tocqueville Chair and Leadership Giving Chair
  • Campaign Committee and volunteer structure finalized

4 Months Before Kickoff

  • Review Corporate Campaign Analysis with committee
  • Steering Committee meetings begin (meet once per week until campaign)
  • Campaign team meets individually with United Way staff to develop specific objectives and strategies surrounding business units and special projects (campaign communications, volunteer trainings, organizing kickoff and celebration, Leadership, Tocqueville, reports and tracking, etc.)

3 Months Before Kickoff

  • Campaign goal set
  • Tocqueville and Leadership strategy developed, prospects identified, events set
  • Finalize theme and communication plan
  • Develop volunteer training schedule, agendas, and materials
  • Committee identifies Coordinators by business units at a 1 to 100 ratio

2 Months Before Kickoff

  • Coordinator Trainings
  • Coordinators identify Team Leaders by business units at a 1 to 25 ratio
  • Execute campaign posters, voicemails, web messages, etc.

6 Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Executive Day of Caring

4 Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Tocqueville Event & Tocqueville Campaign begins

3 Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Tocqueville Chair follows-up with prospects
  • Team Leader Trainings

2 Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Leadership Event & Leadership campaign begins

1 Week Before Kickoff

  • Employee education meetings & Day of Caring opportunities begin
  • Leadership Chair follows-up with prospects
  • Articles distributed on Intranet

Weeks of Campaign

  • General Employee Kickoff Event
  • Initial eWay pledge email sent; reminders sent intermittently
  • Mass voicemails from leadership sent to employee population
  • Daily campaign tracking report sent to campaign team
  • Business unit events hosted to raise awareness and increase participation in pledging
  • Employee education meetings continue

Post Campaign

  • Volunteer Appreciation Letters and Gifts Sent
  • Leadership and Tocqueville Thank You Event
  • General Campaign Celebration
